The Taraba State Police Command says it has rescued four victims of kidnapping in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of the State.
The State Commissioner of Police David Iloyannomon said, police personnel engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel after they have abducted the four victims close to Mayo-Renewo village in Ardo-Kola Local Government.
Iloyannomon said five of the suspected kidnappers were neutralised in the rescue operation adding that one of the kidnappers had previously been arraigned in court for the same crime.
He further said the Taraba State police command is partnering with Local Vigilante groups across communities in the State, which has been instrumental in the reduction of incidents of kidnapping in the State.
The Commissioner of Police explained that as part of efforts to combat kidnapping, he has been on working visits to Local Government Areas in the State to seek more collaborations between the police force and the local Vigilante groups.
