The need for implementation of Memorandum of Understanding reached at the China-Africa Cooperation has been emphasised.

Participants at the Mid-Autumn Festival, organised by the China General Chamber of Commerce in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, said the MOU signed at the China-Africa Cooperation 2024 remains the leeway to mutual sustainable development for the signatories.

The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) that held early September has been described by many international economic analysts as the springboard for a new wave of global economic progression.

The interrogation of issues concerning agricultural evolution, security and infrastructure development, and decisions reached were seen as a giant stride in the China-Africa relations.

Participants at the festival expect all parties that participated at the September 2024 historic event to make hay while the sun shines.

Speakers at the event believe the time has come for Nigerians to hold the government accountable if Nigeria must rebuild its economy as the step has successfully taken 800 million Chinese out of poverty.

There was also an agreement among those present that
Nigeria’s foreign policy must continue to reflect the interest of the people and be attractive to foreign investors.

Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, Li Xuda emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural exchange between China and Nigeria, promising greater cooperation in promoting both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
