The United States says it has offered scholarships worth $30 million or N47.7 billion to Nigerian students in America’s higher institutions in the year 2023 alone.
U.S Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills stated this at the 2024 Education USA College Fair, organised by the U.S Embassy in Abuja.
It is the 23rd Annual College Fair of the United States Embassy in Nigeria. The fair provides an opportunity for young Nigerians with the intent of studying in American universities to get acquainted with the admission process to American Ivory towers of academia.
The number of Nigerian students who jet out on a regular basis to seek academic excellence has made the forum imperative.
According to him, the annual College Fairs have succeeded in guiding applicants on the process of seeking admission in American Colleges and Universities.
Representatives of 50 United States colleges and universities attended the fair, which attracted prospective students from elite schools within Abuja and its environs.
