New Minimum Wage: Kebbi State House of Assembly Passes N53.5B Supplementary Budget

The Kebbi State House of Assembly gas approved the supplementary budget of N53.5 billion presented by Governor Nasir Idris, paving way for the implementation of the new national minimum wage in the State.

The lawnakers ratified the Supplementary Appropriation Bill, 2024, after scaling 3rd reading, at its sitting in Birnin Kebbi, presided over by Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru.

The Finance and Appropriation Committee jointly considered the Supplementary Budget together with the Committee on Budget Monitoring, Economic Planning and Due Process, before the submission of its report to the whole House.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Adamu Muhammad Birnin-Yauri, representing Ngaski State constituency, who read the report, informed the lagislators that following the approval of the supplementary appropriation bill, the cumulative 2024 budget for Kebbi State now stand at N303.7 billion.

Consequently, the legislatures ratified the supplementary budget after it scaled the 3rd reading for onward presentation to the Governor for assent.
