The Nigerian Senate passed a N288bn supplementary budget for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for second reading.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, during the lead debate, explained that the supplementary appropriation is essential to incorporate additional revenues from internally generated funds and other sources for the FCTA, adding that the bill seeks to enhance ongoing projects in the city centre and across the six area councils.
Bamidele emphasized that the proposal is crucial for delivering key projects and programmes that were not included in the FCT’s 2024 statutory appropriation act and to also ensure compliance with the 30 per cent procurement act requirement.
The passage is in response to a correspondence from President Bola Tinubu to the Senate on Tuesday
