Ogun State Command of the Nigeria police force has appealed to residents to jettison plans to embark on another round of national protest planned for October 1st Independence Day.
Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu made the appeal on Sunday during a meeting with security chiefs at the state command headquarters where he revealed that intelligence report suggests that some persons are planning a disruption of the Independence day anniversary.
The meeting was attended by all heads of security agencies in the state including the Army, Department of State Services, DSS, Civil Defense Corps, Amotekun, Immigration, NDLEA and others with a simple message to the youths and residents to shun any form of protest on October first.
The security stakeholders while acknowledging that Ogun State has enjoyed relative peace overtime, appealed to governments at all levels to do more to alleviate the hardship facing Nigerians.
The meeting was a last minute move to forestall actions that could threaten peace and stability in the state.
