Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his government is committed to finding sustainable solutions to alleviate the sufferings of citizens, pleading for patience as the reforms his administration is implementing shows positive signs.

The Nigerian leader in his October Ist Independence day anniversary speech said, exactly 64 years ago, the founding fathers chose democracy as a form of government and launched the dream of a great country that would lead the rest of Africa out of poverty, ignorance, and underdevelopment, a beacon of hope to the rest of continent and the world.

Over six decades later, he said Nigerians worldwide can see how well Nigeria has succeeded in realising the lofty dreams of the founding fathers.

President Tinubu in the national broadcast explained that the world is witnessing and benefiting from the can-do spirit of the Nigerian people, our massive intellectual capacity, and our enterprise and industry in all vocations, from arts to science, technology to infrastructure, adding that, despite the many challenges that buffeted the country, Nigeria remains a strong, united, and viable sovereign nation.

According to the President, his administration took over the leadership of the country 16 months ago at a critical juncture that includes economy headwinds, physical insecurity, and he chose reform for progress and prosperity instead of the carry on business-as-usual and collapse.

Aside listing his administration’s gains in the past 16 months, the President promised that his government will deliver on all its promises.

He announced the gathering of a National Youth Conference for 30 days, the forthcoming launch of The Renewed Hope Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP), and the fact that selected Nigerians will be given national honours.
