The Governor-elect of Edo State Senator Monday Okpebholo, says the people of the state have chosen a path of development, progress, and prosperity by electing him as their next governor.
Okpebholo spoke at a victory party organized to thank the people for their overwhelming support in the September 21 governorship election.
The victory celebration began in Irrua, Edo central senatorial district, the hometown of the governor-elect, senator Monday Okpebholo before moving to Iyamho in Etsako West Local Government Area in Edo north, here, prominent APC members including the governor-elect and his deputy, expressed their gratitude to God and the people of Edo for their support for the APC.

The very elated governor-elect promised that, in return for the people’s trust, he will focus on substantial infrastructure development across Edo State.
In about five weeks, Senator Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa will officially take office as governor and deputy governor, respectively, following the conclusion of the current governor, Godwin Obaseki’s, tenure.
Okpebholo will begin his four-year term at the Osadebe Government House on November 12, 2024.
