Terrorists in Kebbi State, North-West Nigeria have attacked Kanya village in Danko Wasagu LGA, killing one person and abducting the District Head along with eight others.
The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the incident and gave the name of the deceased as Sharif Almu.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, the District Head of Kanya, Isah Daya was abducted when the terrorists stormed his village on Saturday. While the terrorists killed one person, three others were injured with eight hostages taken to an unknown destination.
According to the Police, a combined security team has launched manhunt for the abductors of the monarch and other hostages to rescue them.
The attack comes few days after armed bandits killed a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Suru LGA and abducted one person at Matseri Village under Bunza LGA of the state.
