Rivers LG Crisis: Thugs Set Ikwerre, Eleme, Obio/Akpor Council Secretariats Ablaze

Unidentified thugs have set Eleme Council secretariat, and three other local government areas in Rivers state ablaze barely twenty four hours after governor Siminalaiyi Fubara swore-in the elected local government chairmen expected to resume duty on Monday.

The Eleme Council secretariat complex was burnt down as staff were seen hanging around the premises

According to an eye witness, one of the burnt offices belongs to the director of works.
The council boss who gave details on the situation, vowed that the perpetrators will be brought to book.

Other local government secretariats also set Ablaze are Ikwerre, Obio/Akpor and Emouha.
Reacting to the development, the Okrika council chairman, former National Union Of Petroleum And Natural Gas NUPENG President Igwe Achese said the violence was averted in his LGA.
