Nigeria’s Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has stated that there is no Bill currently before the Senate, nor any Memorandum to debate regarding regionalism, and therefore dismissed the news that claimed he is against South West interests, as fake and unfounded.

Senator Bamidele debunked the fake news in Ado-Ekiti while distributing 5,000 bags of fertilizer to farmers in his senatorial district.

He further mentioned that he recently led all 18 Senators representing the South West region of Nigeria in the process that resulted in the passing of the South West Development Commission Bill.

On the hardship faced by Nigerians, the Senate Leader urged people to be patient and show understanding of the challenges President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is addressing, stating that these issues did not begin today, but borne out of many years of misgovernance and mismanagement of the country’s resources.

He cautioned the beneficiaries of the fertilizers not to sell them or allow them to fall into wrong hands, adding that they should be used for farming and not for any harmful purposes.
