Forum Advocates Public Relations Mechanism For Achieving Enduring Peace

Public Relations as the most reliable approach to achieving long lasting peace in Nigeria dominated discussion at the 2nd Obi Alfred Nnaemake Achebe Lecture Series in Anambra State.

The event organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR in collaboration with the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University was a convergence of top Public Relations practitioners, the academia, political actors, traditional rulers, the religious, among others.

It is the second lecture series in honor of the revelled traditional ruler of the ancient and historic Onitsha kingdom, Obi Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe.

This time, how to achieve peace and reconciliation in the troubled Nigeria nation took the center stage, with speakers and participants advocating that Public Relations approach remains the most potent to resolving the security, political and all other challenges currently facing the nation.

Speakers at the event took turn to proffer solutions to actualising a long lasting peace, security and prosperity across the Thirty six States of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, through the use of public relations.

President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Ike Neliaku also led members of the National Executive on a facility tour of the Innoson Motors Manufacturing factory, located in Nnewi, the industrial hub of Anambra State.

Neliaku says the visit is aimed at promoting made in Nigeria products as well as encourage local manufacturers.

An award of Excellence was presented to the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian automobile giant, Innocent Chukwuma for his innovation and outstanding performance in the Country’s manufacturing sector.
