The Nigerian Army has been encouraged to adopt advanced systems and techniques to engage enemy forces with greater precision and effectiveness to ensure successful operations.

This recommendation was made during the lecture and study period of Exercise Vulcan Glow 10, held in Kachia, Kaduna State, North West Nigeria.

The lecture and study period is part of a series of activities under Exercise Vulcan Glow, an annual Corps-level Field Training Exercise for the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery formations on the employment of artillery resources in all phases of conventional and unconventional warfare, as well as military operations other than war.

Commander Corps of Artillery, Major General Marcus Kangye, emphasized that evolving security threats demand the development of indigenous skills and the need for adaptability to address the dynamic challenges.

During the event, retired Brigadier General Lanre Bello delivered a lecture titled “Enhancing Artillery Support to Nigerian Army Operations through Emerging Technologies: The Way Forward.”

He urged the Army to harness technological advancements to improve operational success.

The lecture strongly advocated the establishment of an advanced fire support simulation centre, where NACA personnel would undergo intensive training in emerging technologies to sharpen precision and deliver devastating firepower in critical operations.
