The Kebbi State Government Delegate visited the family and people of Zuru Emirate over the brutal murder of the District Head of Kanya, late Aliyu Isah Kanya, who was murdered by suspected bandis after his abduction along with other nine persons on October 6, 2024.
The Delegate led by Deputy Governor, Umar Tafida, described the late Aliyu Isah Kanya as a dedicated and hardworking leader who contributed significantly to the state’s security. He urged the family and people of Zuru Emirate to bear the irreparable loss.
Speaking on behalf of the family and good people of Zuru Emirate, the Chiefdom of Wasagu, Muktar Musa Wasagu, thanked the State Governor and his Deputy for their concern and prayed that Allah reward them abundantly.

He appealed for increased military presence in Kanya, Wasagu, Bena and surrounding communities to tackle the growing menace, and he Commended the state government’s security measures.
Speaking at the deceased’s residence in Kanya, Deputy Governor announced the state government’s cash donation of five million naira (N5,000,000) to the family. He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
Late District Head of Kanya, Alhaji Aliyu Isah Kanya, aged 66, left behind 3 wives, 36 children, and many grandchildren.
