Adamu Kambra NSCDC Corps Commandant, Niger State

The Niger State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a suspect, Nura Yerima, for circulating fake News against an officer of the Command on Social Media and 4 others for phone snatching.

Commandant of the Corps, Adamu Kambra, who revealed this at the command headquarters, vowed to keep upholding professionalism and projecting the image of the Corps in good light.

In July 2015, following allegations that one of the Officers of the Command, Superintendent Idris Saidu, was involved in Arms dealing with Terrorists, a Court in Minna heard the case, and he was exonerated and the case dismissed in favour of the said officer.

Since then, the command said mischief makers have continued to circulate false information against the officer and the command, prompting the arrest of the suspect.

Kambra further disclosed that the command had earlier ignored the persistent circulation of the allegations but had to take decisive action to save the name of the Corps.

The suspect, Nura Yerima, admitted to circulating the post but said he is more concerned about the hereafter, which the accused officer had petitioned him before God.

According to Yerima, the officer had called him to ask if he would be able to defend his allegations against him before God, a statement the suspect said is more worrisome than his arrest.

He further appealed to be let go of the hook as well as for the officer to forgive him, promising not to circulate such posts.

Meanwhile, Commandant Kambra added that they have succeeded in arresting 4 suspects for snatching handsets.
