The Federal Government has disclosed plans to construct a Dam at Dura in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State to control overflow of water from River Katsina Ala which has continued to threaten the Yandev Ugbema road.
The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Terlumun Utsev, gave the indication when he led a team to assess the latest damage caused by the flood on the Gboko -Katsina Ala highway around Ugbema axis .
The deplorable condition of Yandev-Ugbema road which serves a major link between Makurdi, Gboko, Kastina-Ala and other major towns and neighbouring States, has been a major concern for travellers along that route until most recently the condition deteriorated futher following the recent collapse of the Dura bridge generating public outcry.

This attracted the attention of the Minister of water resources and Sanitation who was represented by the Deputy Director Hydrology in the Ministry.
A move which renews hope amongst members of the neighbouring community.
The road which connects Taraba and other southern parts of the country remains strategic for farmers as well as business people who need to transport their produce or goods to other parts of the country.
