There was outpouring of praise for the Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, as he celebrated his eighth coronation anniversary alongside his 71st birthday.
The king, known as Ogidigan, was joined by prominent sons and daughters of the land at the Holy Aruosa Cathedral, where they gathered to give thanks to God for eight years of his peaceful reign.
The revered Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, made a grand entrance at Holy Aruosa Cathedral on Akpakpava Road for the Thanksgiving service, celebrating his eight-year coronation anniversary and 71st birthday.
His arrival was greeted with cheers and jubilations as the monarch stepped out of his car.
The respected king also received a standing ovation as he entered the church, with worshippers and journalists eagerly trying to capture the moment with their cameras.

The King and his guests were treated to a variety of songs in the Bini language, as different groups danced forward to pay their respects to the celebrant.
Among the distinguished guests was the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, who joined a host of prominent personalities in praising the Oba’s exceptional leadership, noting how it has fostered peace in the state.
His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II was crowned the 40th king of the Benin Kingdom on October 20, 2016, a date that coincides with his birthday.
