A total of 1114 Internally Displaced households in Baka Camp North bank within Makurdi Benue State’s capital have been relocated to temporary shelters along Gbajimba road in the State.
The State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Aondowase Kunde who coordinated the exercise alongside State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, IOM said the Government is working hard to ensure their return to their ancestral homes in about a year.

Baka camp situated at North bank within Makurdi metropolis officially closes and another door opens for its 3698 Internally Displaced Persons who are then relocated to yet another temporary shelter along Makurdi Gbajimba road.
Its a partnership between the State Government and the International Organisation for Migration which makes this possible with the State Commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management saying it will be a continuous process.

The conclusion of the first phase brings hope that eventually some day other IDPS will also have reason to smile.
