Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has ordered the demolition of all infractions in Sabon Lugbe along the Airport Road in Abuja.

The Minister gave the directive when he made an emergency visit to the demolition site where owners of the affected properties were alleged by the Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima to have mobilised thugs to stop further demolition of properties in the area.

The Minister asked the Guards Brigade Commander to take charge of the layout and work closely with the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to provide adequate security to enable Development Control officials carry out the demolition without threats.

The demolition which started last week Thursday continued on Monday with the pulling down of about 35 houses leaving families stranded.

The Minister also engaged with some affected developers and property owners who claimed they got their allocation papers from the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC insisting that approvals were duly given.

But Development Control Director, Mukhtar Galadima has challenged those with such approvals to come forward and present their documents to the government.

Security operatives have now taken over the area and are working in synergy with the Department of Development Control to complete the demolition exercise.
