Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has designated Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1, as public holidays to support maximum Voters turnout in the upcoming local government election on Saturday, November 2.
The Governor’s announcement was aimed at ensuring that residents had adequate time to travel from Calabar and other parts of the state to their polling units, particularly for those in distant areas.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, Governor Otu called on all eligible voters to make use of this opportunity to engage in the electoral process and actively participate in shaping the future of their local communities.

He further emphasized that strong public participation was vital to a healthy democratic process in Cross River State.
