Following the death of 6 students and 2 mourners in the communal clash between the people of Konshisha and Oju Local Government Areas of Benue state, a pressure group known as Diiv Progressive Agenda (DiPA) has called on the State government to shut down the College of Education in Oju.

DiPA which made this known through its Representative, Bruce Iormom in Makurdi the State capital wants the institution relocated to a neutral ground to avert further loss of innocent lives in the prolonged crisis.

The land related conflict has torn apart the neighboring communities of Bonta in Konshisha and Ukpute in Oju local government areas of Benue State with concerted attempts to reconcile the two communities still raising suspicion.

On the Bonta side their concern has shifted beyond the violence resulting from the persistent misunderstanding to what they term a media campaign to distort the true story.

While pointing accusing fingers at a house of Representatives member for sponsoring the crisis, the Bonta pressure group wants the state government to take steps to resolve or at least cushion the effect of the crisis in the interim.

The blame trading between both communities has continued with no permanent solution in sight leading to mass killings and displacement of hundreds of families.
