The Zenith Labour Party, ZLP has win 15 out of the 17 Local Government Championship positions in Saturday’s Abia State LG elections.
Meanwhile, the Young Progressives Party, YPP won the remaining Chairmanship positions in Osisioma and Ugwunagbo Local Government Areas.
The results were confirmed by the Chairman of Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, ABSIEC, Professor Chima George.

State Governor, Alex Otti is a member of the Labour Party, LP. However, with crisis in the party where he is not supporting the embattled National Chairman, Julius Abare, the Governor reportedly threw his weight behind the ZLP against candidates from his own LP.
