Monday Odigie has resigned from his position as the technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League Side Bendel Insurance.
According to reports, Odigie tendered his resignation to the club secretary Charles Ihimekpen in Benin City.
A source close to the team said Odigie wanted to resign on Match Day 10 encounter against Sunshine Stars of Akure.
But the outcome of the match, which Insurance won 2-1 on the road, prevented that from happening.
It was revealed that the coach prior to his resignation as Bendel Insurance handler, went to Akure and Enugu, and returned alone without joining the team.
Bendel Insurance have endured a poor start to the 2024-25 season.
The Benin Arsenals have managed to record three wins, three draws and six defeats in 12 games this season.
Bendel Insurance are currently occupying the bottom of the 20-team league, with 12 points following their loss to the reigning NPFL Champions, Enugu Rangers.
The Benin team will, on Saturday, trade tackles with visiting Kwara United in Match Day 13 encounter at the Samuel Ogbemudia’s Stadium in Benin, from 4 p.m.
The Management of the team is yet to make any statement about the development.
Meanwhile, Greg Igbinoba oversaw the team’s Friday training at the main bowl of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
Monday Odigie guided Bendel Insurance to win the 2023 President Federation Cup title.
