A Deputy Superintendent of Corrections, Innocent Ogbu has been kidnapped in Niger State.
The officer, who is the state unit commander of the Armed Squad of the medium-security custodial centre in Minna, was abducted along Lokoja- Enugu road on Saturday, November 23, on his way to Enugu for a development course.
According to a statement by the Nigerian Correctional Service Commands spokesman, Rabiu Shuaibu, the officer was abducted along with fifteen other commuters travelling to Enugu in an 18-seater commercial bus.
Meanwhile, the controller of corrections, Nigerian correctional service, Niger State Command has called for prayers for the safe release of the officer.
