The Kogi State justice system has taken a decisive step into the digital era with the launch of the Kogi Judiciary ePortal (kogijudiciary.com), a new platform designed to automate payment processing and affidavit services across the state. The initiative, rolled out by the Kogi State Government, signals a broader push to modernize public services, enhance transparency, and improve access to justice.

Deployed by Echo Systems Network Ltd, the ePortal replaces manual, paper-heavy processes with a secure, end-to-end digital workflow. Citizens can now initiate affidavit applications online, make official payments seamlessly, and track their requests without the delays and uncertainties that often accompany traditional procedures.

One of the platform’s standout features is its verification capability. Members of the public, legal practitioners, and institutions can verify affidavits issued through the system, as well as confirm payments made to the state. This function is expected to significantly reduce fraud, curb impersonation, and strengthen trust in judicial documents – an issue that has long challenged public administration nationwide.

Beyond convenience, the ePortal brings measurable gains in efficiency and accountability. Payments are processed electronically, reducing cash handling and improving revenue tracking for the state. Automated records create clear audit trails, making it easier for authorities to reconcile transactions and for users to receive instant confirmation of services rendered.

For lawyers and frequent users of judicial services, the impact is immediate: less time spent in queues, fewer physical visits to court registries, and faster turnaround times. For everyday citizens, especially those outside urban centers, the platform lowers barriers by enabling access from anywhere with an internet connection.

Officials say the launch aligns with Kogi State’s digital governance agenda, leveraging technology to deliver smarter public services and promote ease of doing business. With its focus on verification, security, and user experience, the Kogi Judiciary ePortal sets a new benchmark for judicial service delivery in Nigeria – one that other states may soon look to replicate.
