Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved December 1, 2024 as the implementation date for the new minimum wage of N75,554 with payment of one month arrears to the state public servants.
In addition, Governor Adeleke also approved the sum of N25,000 across board for pensioners in Osun State
Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi who represented the Governor described the approval as a landmark achievement and decision concerning the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state.
State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Christopher Arapasopo and the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ganiyu Salawu in their remarks appreciated Governor Adeleke for being workers and masses friendly, by raising the bar above the N70,000 approved minimum wage of the Federal Government.
Signing of the implementation agreement of the minimum wage was done by the State Government and the labour leaders.
