NLC Mandates States To Shutdown From Dec 2, 2024

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, says there is no going back on the proposed strike from December 2, 2024, in states where the new National minimum wage of seventy thousand naira has not been implemented.

Ajaero was speaking at the maiden edition of the Labour Correspondents Association of Nigeria, LACAN, media parley with heads of federal agencies and labour leaders.

Ajaero threw more light on the directive to state councils where N70,000 minimum wage has not been implemented.

For the International Labour Organisation, ILO, there is an urgent need for collaborative effort to end child labour and illegal labour migration.

The event reviewed the outcome of the engagement between government and organized labour in the last year; its successes and projections.
