Some traditional rulers within the Niger Delta region have pledged to support the Niger Delta development commission NDDC, in peace building .
They made this known during a one day capacity building on emerging trends in rural governance, for members of the traditional rulers of oil producing Communities of Niger Delta region, TROMPCON, held in port Harcourt.
The one day capacity building training for traditional rulers organized by the NDDC was to empower the traditional rulers with requisite skills to help promote peace within the Niger Delta region.

The training in Port Harcourt centre is for Rivers and Bayelsa states
Resource persons say traditional rulers need to play fatherly roles, promote community interests and good governance.
The traditional rulers while commending the NDDC for the training, said the skills acquired will add value to their people.
They also attributed the crisis in most communities to oil companies patronizing cultists and militants.
