Delta Gov Threatens To Sanction Any Erring Civil Servant

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has threatened to sanction any public official found wanting in the discharge of his or her duties.

Governor Oborevwori who made this threat at the swearing of Chairmen and members of some commissions and boards in Unity Hall at the Government House in Asaba said the event was in continuation of the process of assembling a winning team for the advancement of the state under the MORE agenda.

Those sworn in included the chairman of Delta state Sports Council, Jọshụa Oborevwori, members of Delta state Public Procurement Commission headed by David Igbodo, Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission and Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

According to Governor Oborevwori the members were an assemblage of men and women of proven track records in their various fields of endeavour expected to replicate same in the day to day running of their boards.

Members of boards of Delta State Waste Management Board, Delta State Urban Water Board and Delta state Traffic Management Authority Traditional Medicine Board and Delta State Tourism Board were also inaugurated and charged to prioritise the interest and wellbeing of the people.

Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed officials, former Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly Christopher Ochor now Chairman Delta State Tourism Board thanked Governor Oborevwori for finding them worthy and pledged their collective commitment and to uphold the administration’s vision for the state.
