The residents of Salama, Rafin Zurfi, a suburb of Bauchi Local Government, have raised concerns over what they described as the nonchalant attitude of the past administrations, and the agencies saddle with the responsibility of reducing erosions, after several complaints in many years.

Some community members made the plea at the side of the flooded river, where erosion is fast approaching the residential areas, as well as destroying farmlands.
The river has been flooded from the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Rafin zurfi, down to Salama and Kagadama, leaving this community at a higher risk to erosion.
The worrisome situation according to the residents, each time it rains the river is flooded, making it difficult for Doka community to access basic social amenities like health care during emergencies, and their children cannot go to school.
Daniel suyibam the Chairman of the Salama Community is so worried about the situation
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to meet with the Bauchi State Ministry of Works to make comments was not successful.
But the residents are hopeful that the administration of Bala Muhammad will come to their aid.
