Governor Uba Sani reopens Kidandan Market after lengthy security closure

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has reopened the Kidandan Market in Giwa Local Government Area.

It had been closed for several years due to security concerns.

The Governor described the reopening as a significant step toward restoring peace and stability in the area. 
The reopening of Kidandan Market follows the recent resumption of activities at the Birnin Gwari Livestock Market, closed for nearly a decade. 

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Sani Liman Kila, Governor Uba Sani, emphasised peace as the cornerstone of progress and development. 

He called on residents to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence and a non-violent approach to issues confronting them.. 

The governor assured the community of his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace through dialogue and collaboration with security agencies.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to rehabilitate those who have renounced violence. 

Chairman of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee, Sheikh Yusuf Musa Asadussunah, commended the progress achieved through dialogue, including the disarmament of senior bandit leaders and their followers. 

He also urged the government to review the cases of detainees, to ensure that innocent individuals are released.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Security and Internal Affairs, Dr. James Kanyip and local government said they remain firmly committed to maintaining peace. 

They called on the community to support ongoing efforts to foster stability and build a prosperous future for Giwa Local Government.
