New NECO Registrar promises to reposition body

The Registrar, Chief Executive Officer of National Examinations Council NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi, has promised to reposition the institution to become a credible and internationally acclaimed examination body.

Professor Dantani Wushishi made the promise, while officially taking over the affairs of the council from the former Acting Registrar, Ebikibina Ogborodi.

The registrar acknowledged that there are challenges that needed to be tackled and assured the staff that the challenges are surmountable.

Professor Dantani Wushishi also assured the staff that their rewards and privileges would be given the desired attention.

He stressed that the council under his leadership, would not hesitate to punish any staff found wanting in the discharge of his duties.

The former Acting Registrar, Ebikibina Ogborodi, had briefed the Registrar on the progress being made on the ongoing Senior School Certificate Examinations, as well as on other mandates of the Council.

The new Registrar, Chief Executive Officer of National Examinations Council, NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi was appointed 2 weeks ago, precisely 12th July.
