Rivers State government has taken delivery of family planning materials procured through support from United Nations Fund for Population Activities UNFPA in an effort to reduce cases of mother and child mortalities.

The state commissioner for health, Adaeze Oreh, while receiving the items at the Rivers state central medical stores said their procurement is a testament to the state government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring availability of the central medicine and fostering partnership that drives innovation and efficiency.

Oreh says this initiative is an opportunity to strengthen the health systems and improve the quality of care by tracking the distribution and utilisation of these commodities.
