Auwal Muhammad, Bauchi Commissioner of Police

The Bauchi State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents before, during, and after the festive season.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, in a Press statement issued on Monday, said the Police, in collaboration with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders, are dedicated to ensuring a peaceful festive period.

Wakil stated that the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhammad, has ordered the deployment of sufficient personnel, including both conventional police and tactical teams, along with necessary logistics to guarantee comprehensive security at all strategic locations across the State.

He assured that the personnel assigned to this important task have been given explicit instructions to maintain a professional and civil demeanor while executing their duties effectively.

Wakil emphasizes that the Commissioner has directed all Area Commanders, Departmental Heads, and Divisional Police Officers to implement both overt and covert security operations to protect lives and property. Security coverage will be provided at all places of worship and recreational centers, and proactive measures will be taken at identified trouble spots.

All Police divisions, according to the statement, have been instructed to enhance their neighborhood policing strategies.

It therefore notifies the people that high-visibility policing approach will be maintained before, during, and after the celebrations, as Police patrol vehicles will be strategically positioned along highways, while undercover operatives and foot patrol officers will ensure coverage in all areas.
