Terrorist Kingpin: Bello Turji

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Abdullahi Shinkafi has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the escalating security threat posed by the notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.

He made the call while addressing journalists in Gusau the Zamfara State capital, on the grave concern over Turji’s latest threats to make life unbearable for residents of Sokoto and Zamfara states. .

Abdullahi raised the alarm, following the release of a video by terrorists’ leader Bello Turji where he boldly challenged security agencies to release his ally, Bako Wurgi, who was recently arrested by security operatives at the Shinkafi General Hospital.

Bello Turji’s ally, Wurgi was said to have been injured after he had confrontations with some other terrorist groups in the Mania area and was taken to Shinkafi General Hospital where he was arrested by the Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma

In the 5-minute video, Bello Turji warned that he would render towns and villages in Shinkafi Zurmi (Zamfara State) and Isa (Sokoto State) devastated and desolate if the communities failed to meet his demands.

The Former Chairman of Zamfara State Committee on Banditry Related Offences, Abdullahi Shinkafi emphasized the need for a swift and coordinated response by security agencies to eliminate the growing threats posed by notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji and his gang.

He said: “I want to call on Mr President as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to save the lives and properties of good people of Shinkafi, Zurmi Local Government Areas, and Isah Local Government in Sokoto up to Sabon-Birnin axis in Sokoto state.”

Shinkafi said it was an insult on the Nigerian Security forces for terrorists to issue threats to communities because the ally of the notorious terrorist kingpin Bello Turji was arrested.

He called on Sokoto and Zamfara State Governments to collaborate and engage the Presidency with a view to developing a robust strategy to eliminate the threat.
