Kano State Government reaffirms commitment to tackling thuggery through Youth empowerment schemes

Kano State Government has reaffirmed its resolution to safeguard the future of youth and security of the state by ending thuggery activities and drug abuse.

The Director General Special Services Directorate, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umaru retired, disclosed this at the end of a special meeting with Para Military agencies held at government house Kano, where he called for collaboration with the Federal government to end crimes in the State.

Ibrahim Umaru said the collaboration is aimed at unifying government efforts in order to ensure the security of lives and properties, as well as a healthier and peaceful environment for the citizens to progress.

According to the Director General, the rising spate of violence in the state can be attributed to several factors such as unemployment, poverty, drug abuse and weak community structures among others.

In a statement released at the end of the meeting by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature, Umaru said the proliferation of counterfeit and fake Pharmaceutical products which pose a significant threat to the society, does not only endanger the lives of citizens, but also undermines the integrity of healthcare delivery.

AVM Umar stressed that the present administration of Governor Yusuf, is fully committed to tackling the resurgence of thuggery through empowerment schemes, skill acquisition initiatives in order to create sustainable livelihood for the young generation.

AVM Ibrahim Umaru therefore called for decisive action to combat these challenges and protect the future.
