The ongoing trial of the Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James popularly known as ‘Baba Ijesha’ which began Monday at a special high court sitting in Ikeja Lagos State set up for trial of sexual related offences has been adjourned till August 11th and 12th 2021.

The case which was scheduled to continue Wednesday was vacated due to the call to bar ceremony holding at the  Nigeria law school Abuja at Tuesday sitting, however, the defence team lead by Dada Awosika (san) cross examined Damilola Adekoya also known as Princess, who is the foster parent of the minor alleged to have been sexually assaulted.

The defence lawyer said the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage tendered as exhibit by the prosecutor did not show that the 14 years old minor was sexually assaulted as alleged.

He argued that the video streamed on social media did not prove that the defendant moved his hands towards any sensitive part of the minor in question.

The defence counsel also argued during the cross examination that the scenario was scripted to indict his client and questioned why there was no audio to prove their case before the court.
