Sokoto SSG Loses Daughter, 3 Grandchildren, House Help To Fire Incident

The Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa, has lost his daughter, her three children, and a house help to an early morning fire outbreak that ravaged their house on Monday.     

The fire outbreak, which reportedly occurred at about 3.00 am, claimed the lives of Rabi’atu Bello Sifawa, daughter to the Secretary to the State Government, and her three children, named Fatimatu Bello Yusuf, Maryam Bello Yusuf, and Abubakar Sadik Bello Yusuf as well a house help, Aishatu Muhammad.       

Funeral prayer for the deceased has been observed in Sifawa town, Bodinga Local Government.    

The funeral prayer was attended by the state Deputy Governor, Idris Muhammed Gobir; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga; the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, representatives of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko; the State Chief Judge, Justice Saidu Sifawa; the Grand Khadi, Shuaibu Sodangi Achida; Chief of Staff to Government House, Aminu Haliru Dikko; members of the State legislature, Commissioners,  Special Advisers as well as heads of government’s parastatals, Permanent Secretaries, and Local Government Council Chairmen.   

The remains of the five deceased persons have since been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions.

Funeral prayer for the deceased has also been observed in Sifawa town, Bodinga Local Government.   

Meanwhile, the State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has commiserated with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bello Sifawa, over the loss of his daughter and three grandchildren. The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the victims.
