“They are lying against us, they did not allow us to explain that we only budgeted less than one million naira for fumigation across our offices, and we never bought any computer in 2024”.
This was the reaction of the embattled JAMB registrar, Professor, Ishaq Oloyede, after a joint committee session of the National Assembly, accused him on Monday of allocating over N850 million naira on fumigation, N600 million on local travels and N6.5 Billion on training.
Professor Oloyede denied spending whooping amount as claimed by the lawmakers, insisting that all figures mentioned are part of the proposal for the 2025 budget.
One year after candidates paid N7,700 for the Unified Tertiary examination, UTME, the JAMB registrar, revealed that the amount has suddenly been reduced to N3,500, in the heat of lawmakers scrutiny on the agency spending.
