The Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence, has condemned what it terms unwarranted and uncouth remarks credited to ex-agitator in the Niger Delta, Asari Dokubo against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The FCT Chapter Coordinator of the group, Mark Okpanachi Ogah, said this while reacting to a video in which Asari Dokubo was seen threatening the FCT Minister.

Ogah said Asari’s outburst is not only disrespectful but also a blatant attempt to undermine the achievements and focus of a respected statesman who has demonstrated uncommon character and competence in governance

The group said it is important to note that Asari Dokubo is not a state actor and has no jurisdiction to interfere in matters beyond his limits, particularly issues pertaining to Rivers State, adding that his involvement and commentary are not only unwarranted but also highlight his lack of authority to address matters where he wields no legitimate power.

They urge Asari Dokubo to cease all verbal attacks and threats against the FCT Minister as Nigeria is a sovereign state governed by the rule of law, noting that no individual is above the law.

They called on the relevant security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Police Force, to caution Asari Dokubo against any further threats or insults against government officials.

According to the group, The FCT Minister has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to good governance, expressing confidence that he will remain focused on delivering results for the benefit of the FCT and Nigeria.
