Over 10,000 Unilorin Students Benefit from FG NELFUND

Authorities of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State have confirmed a total of 10,789 students as beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Funds (NELFUND) scheme from the institution.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Wahab Egbewole disclosed this during a Press conference at the University’s main campus, where he also noted that the NELFUND programme initiated by the Federal Government to assist students in their educational pursuit is already touching many lives positively.

Professor Wahab Egbewole during the press briefing said verification for all beneficiaries of the loan scheme for 2024, 2025 is currently ongoing, expressing hope that the numbers could potentially increase in future.

The Vice-Chancellor said the University management has put all necessary measures in place to address likely challenges in the course of the current academic year.

ait.live reports that University of ilorin in the last 50 years of its existence has been described by many as the most stable public University in Nigeria, devoid of the instability occasioned by series of industrial crisis which has become a dominant feature of several other public universities across the country.
