The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has commenced presentation of witnesses at the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City, challenging the outcome of the September 2024 gubernatorial election.
The first to testify is a PDP Local Government Collation Agent for Ikpoba-Okha who claims that votes from seventy six units in ward two of Ikpoba-Okha were excluded from the result as announced in that locality.
He substantiated his allegation by tendering additional documents, including copies of Form EC8A, certified true copies of the EC8A, and BVAS accreditation records identified by the court as exhibits.
The second witness from Ososo in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area made allegations of over voting and collation of incorrect scores in several polling units.
The third witness from Uhumora in Owan West claims that there were cases of irregularities and manipulation of results.
However, counsels to the defendants, INEC, APC and Governor Okpebholo objected to the admissibility of the evidences tendered by the witnesses which are provisionally admitted by the Justice Wilfred Kpochi led tribunal.
