The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has mourned the passing of Lt. General Jeremiah Timbut Useni, describing his death as “the fall of one of the biggest trees in the forest of Nigeria.” Wike noted that the retired Army General will be deeply missed by all.
In a statement by the Minister’s Senior special assistant on public communication and new media, Wike praised General Useni’s remarkable leadership and selfless service to the nation. He acknowledged Useni’s role in developing the Federal Capital Territory when he served as Minister from 1993 to 1998.
Wike also acknowledged Useni’s distinguished career, including serving as a Military Governor of Bendel State, Minister of Transport, Quarter-Master General of the Nigerian Army, and Senator representing Plateau South.
