The Ondo State Election Petitions Tribunal has commenced proceedings with its inaugural sitting at the State High Court in Akure, the state capital.
The three man tribunal headed by Justice Nelson Ugubu tasked with resolving disputes arising from the November 16 Governorship election, began with preliminary hearings concerning petitions filed by aggrieved parties.
This marks a significant step in the post-election legal process as various political stakeholders seek redress over alleged electoral irregularities.
The tribunal is anticipated to examine petitions from opposition parties and candidates, who have expressed concerns regarding the election’s conduct, the declaration of results, and other related electoral issues.
Present at the inaugural session was the winner of the election as declared by INEC, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All progressives Congress,APC.
