Rivers politics: Edison Ehie, apologises to Odili on behalf of Orashi people

The Chief of Staff, Rivers State government house, Edison Ehie, has apologised to former governor of Rivers state, Peter Odili on behalf of Orashi sons who according to him embarrassed Odili on National Television when the FCT Minister hosted his associates recently.

Edison Ehie, stated this during an empowerment programme hosted by the Chairman of Ogba/ Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Prince Isaac Umejuru, to round off activities marking his first 100 days in office.

Few weeks ago, some Orashi sons apologised to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, for comments credited to former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, who was quoted to have said somebody wanted to make Rivers his Estate, hence his support for Governor Fubara.

Responding to the comments by Felix Obuah and Chibudom Nwuche, Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government, Edison Ehie on behalf of the entire Orashi Region, apologised to Peter Odili for the disrespectful comments by the duo.

Also speaking at the event, the Rivers Deputy Governor heaped praises on the ONELGA council boss, Isaac Umejuru, for replicating Governor Fubara’s Rivers First mantra in the council area.

The climax of the activities to round off Isaac Umejuru’s first 100 days in office was the distribution of official cars to Councillors, empowerment of 11 lucky individuals with car gifts, 50 persons got 25 tricycles and motorcycles each, while 40 women got 20 Grinding and Industrial Sewing Machines each.

Earlier in the day, several projects were commissioned including Community Primary Healthcare Centre in Okpuropuali, reconstructed Assembly Hall at Community Secondary School,Obite, renovated 5 Classroom Blocks at Community Secondary School, Mgbede, a newly constructed Ultra Modern Market at Ogbidi, remodeled JTF Quarters and Newly reconstructed ONELGA Legislative Complex.
