Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of at least 10 people, all men, in a local community in the state.
No group has claimed responsibility and security agents are yet to identify the gunmen who struck at Amegu Nkalaha Community in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.
Reports say the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday and no arrest has been made.

Police spokesman in the state described the attack as selective, as only men were killed and specific buildings razed by the attackers.
Locals claim that suspected herdsmen may have carried out the early day mayhem in the community following alleged killing of their cows by suspected members of the militant wing of the proscribed IPOB/ESN operating in the area.
A source who refused to be identified told AIT that stakeholders had waded into the complicated security situation to prevent a retaliation, before the attack on the villagers by the gunmen.
