Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the Young Agricultural Support Programme, (YASP), in Bauchi State, with one hundred youths as beneficiaries.

According to the President’s wife, the aim of the initiative is to build resilient communities, reduce poverty, and ensure food security for all.

It is another phase of the Empowerment Initiative launched by the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, through the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with a total budget of N9.2million.

Representing the President’s wife during the programme launch, the wife of Bauchi State Governor, Aisha Bala, said the investment is not just about financial support, but to create opportunities for young people to thrive in agriculture, foster food security, and contribute to the economic growth of Bauchi State.

As she launched the Agriculture Support Programme on behalf of the President’s wife, Aisha Bala said the initiative will change the lives of 100 beneficiaries, who will be trained on Good Agricultural Practices, (GAP).

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the president’s wife for the gesture for the various empowerment schemes provided to the youths and women in Nigeria.

According to the President’s wife, the programme is designed to equip young individuals with knowledge, skills, and tools they need to lead in the agriculture sector, as each participant is expected to receive N50,000 to kick-start their agricultural venture.
