The Governors and National Assembly members from States in North Central Nigeria have committed to the success of the newly established North Central Development Commission (NCDC).
At a joint meeting where the Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State addressed Journalists in Abuja, the Forum promised to unite in implementing strategies that will make the Commission impact lives positively
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had recently assented to the North Central Development Commission Bill into law, aimed at addressing developmental issues of the zone.
On Thursday, key political leaders from the North Central zone of Nigeria met for the first time to harness knowledge from the people under a common platform.
Highlighting the importance of the Commission in advancing development across the North Central States, Governor Sule urged the members of the National Assembly to team up with their State Governors in order to ensure that the Commission is well funded, just as membership of the management team of the Commission must be inclusive.
He also mentioned the need to put in place a Committee that will properly identify strategic development needs for the benefit of the North Central States.
The meeting noted that enhancing unity of the people and development across all the North Central States remain central and will be pursued.
