Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on traditional rulers across the country to emulate the philanthropic gestures of the Ooni of Ife, in building bridges, showing love and dealing with ethnicity and religious bigotry, among other things that hinder the unity, progress and development of Nigeria.

The governor made the call when he was receiving the wife, Olori Ooni of Ife, Temitope Adesegun, at the Government House in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.

Her Royal Majesty, wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Temitope Adesegun, said she was in Bauchi to celebrate with the babies born in this season of love, especially the most vulnerable group, through her pet project, Hope Alive Initiative: A humanitarian health care service support, for improving and ensuring a healthy society.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed appreciates the Oni’s wife’s intervention and concern, and for coming to Bauchi State with such a huge amount of valuable humanitarian items, to support the people of the state, particularly children of the less privileged in society, saying it is an indication of strengthening the unity of Nigeria.

The governor calls on other traditional rulers across the country to emulate such a good gesture, for the concern she has at ensuring peace and unity in Nigeria.

Governor Bala Mohammed also announced the donation of fifty million Naira to the foundation, in appreciation of the life-saving support to the people, and to equally name one of the roads constructed in Bauchi State, after the Ooni of Ife.
