Kano State Governor, Abba Kabiru Yusuf

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has warned teachers in primary and secondary schools in the State to stop engaging students in hard labour during or after school hours.

Governor Abba Yusuf handed down the warning when he paid an unscheduled visit to Government Senior secondary school Commercial Wudil.

Governor Abba Yusuf and some of his cabinate members who were returning from a state function paid an unscheduled visit to Government Senior Secondary School Wudil where he sighted some students working during school hours.

A visibly disappointed Governor Yusuf emphasized that the sole purpose of students’ presence in school is to receive education that would shape them into becoming productive members of the society.

The governor who was on an inspection of some dilapidated buildings in the school, met students digging a toilet pipeline network.

Speaking on the school’s social infrastructure, Governor Yusuf assured the school management that his administration will renovate all dilapidated buildings.

In another development, Governor Yusuf inspected abandoned projects at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

Governor Yusuf assured the university community of his administration’s commitment to completing all stalled projects, emphasizing the state government’s dedication to revitalizing the institution.

As part of efforts to support the university’s growth, Governor Yusuf approved additional 100 hectares of land for its expansion, which will accommodate a new Faculty of Engineering and a Senate Building.

The governor’s unscheduled visit was extended to the ongoing reconstruction works at the Kano Printing Press, which was vandalized during the End-Bad-Governance protests.
